Hospital Sitting

A Supportive Presence When It Matters Most

A hospital room can be a lonely and confusing place. Our Hospital Sitting services provide a continuous, calming presence for your loved one during their stay, ensuring they are never truly alone.

While hospital staff focus on medical needs, we focus on the person. From helping with communication and comfort to providing vital companionship during the long hours between doctor visits, we bridge the gap between clinical care and the comforts of home.

Constant Companionship

Reducing the anxiety and hospital delirium that can occur in unfamiliar environments.

How We Support Your Loved One in the Hospital

Our sitters focus on safety, comfort, and connection so your loved one feels supported every moment they’re in the hospital.

Patient Advocacy

We act as a helpful liaison, noting changes in comfort and alerting nursing staff when immediate attention is needed.

Personal Comfort

Assistance with non-medical needs like adjusting pillows, refilling water, or helping with a tablet or phone to stay in touch with family.

Respite for Family

Giving you the opportunity to go home, rest, and recharge, knowing your loved one is safe and attended to.

Why Hospital Sitting Matters

Being in the hospital can be disorienting and frightening, especially for older adults or those with memory challenges. A familiar, steady presence helps ease that fear and reduce confusion.

Our Hospital Sitting services are designed to complement the medical team—not replace them—by focusing on the human side of care: reassurance, companionship, and practical help with everyday needs.

How We Work Alongside the Care Team

We coordinate our support around the hospital’s routines and your loved one’s care plan. Our sitters remain attentive but unobtrusive, stepping in to help with comfort and communication while respecting all hospital policies and staff.

From the first hello to the final discharge, our focus is on being a calm, trusted presence—so you and your loved one never feel alone in the process.

Hospital Sitting FAQs

Does a hospital sitter provide medical care?

No. Our sitters provide non-medical support. We do not administer medication or perform clinical procedures. Instead, we focus on safety, comfort, and companionship, freeing up the medical team to focus on your loved one’s treatment.

Can you stay overnight or for 24-hour shifts?

Yes. We can provide coverage for a few hours during the day or stay through the night to ensure your loved one doesn’t become disoriented or try to get out of bed unassisted during the late hours.

How do you coordinate with the hospital staff?

We view ourselves as part of your loved one’s support team. We stay out of the way of medical procedures but remain nearby to alert nurses if a monitor beeps, if the patient is in pain, or if they need assistance that requires clinical staff.

What happens when my loved one is discharged?

The transition from hospital to home is a critical time. We can help pack personal belongings, coordinate with family for the ride home, and even transition into Companion or Personal Care at home to ensure a smooth and safe recovery.

Stay Close—Even When You Can’t Be There

If your loved one is in the hospital, you don’t have to manage every moment alone. We’re here to provide a steady, caring presence when you need it most.
